Giverny and Auvers sur Oise Tour

A unique offer!
Discover the house and gardens of Monet in Giverny during a full day. Our offer includes the visit of Monet's house, the last home of Van Gogh in Auvers-sur-Oise and lunch as an option.

Located at 80km of Paris, Giverny is a very charming village. Claude Monet decided to move here in order to develop his passions: painting, gardening and photography.

During the tour, you will see Monet's house restored as in the old days, the painter's workshop and stroll through the wonderful garden.

Inside Monet's house, where he lived from 1883 to 1926, you will discover:

  • The ground floor: the "blue lounge" (room for reading), the groceries, the workshop, the dining room with the famous collection of Japanese drawings on the wall, and the kitchen well decorated.
  • The first floor: the private apartments with Monet's bedroom (specific period furniture), Alice's bedroom and "toilettes". In front of the house, you will be charmed by the famous Monet's gardens which are majestic and represent one of the painter's greatest master pieces.

Monet's house is opened from April to the end of October.

In 2009, a partnership between the Terra Foundation for American Art, the general council of Eure in the Seine Maritime department, the district planning authority in Vernon and the Orsay Museum, enabled the birth of the museum of the impressionisms in Giverny; which replaced the American Art Museum. This new museum is about the history of the impressionism and its movement impact on the twentieth century.

The museum is dedicated to the impressionism and explores the whole artistic movement. More than a museum consecrated to the most famous artists, the museum is also about the upstream art (the precursors) and the downstream art (from the Second World War to Contemporary art).

Located just outside Claude Monet's house in a former farm from the same period, this restaurant will seduce you thanks to its numerous assets. Whether you are sitting on the flowery terrace, in the great room overlooked by the counter or in the patio with a view on the former courtyard of the farm, you will be able to try out specialties from Claude Monet's recipes. Joël Poupat, Nathalie and Jean-Yves Bernard will be delighted to welcome you in their restaurant located in the heart of Giverny.

The traditional architecture of that place, the quality of the dishes and the service will make your gourmet break an enjoyable moment. Whether you come with your family or as a couple, you shall be pleased. Let yourself be treated by the sweetness of the impressionist Normandy.

A place of inspiration for painters like Vincent van Gogh, Camille Pissarro, Claude Monet, Charles-François Daubigny and many others... They all left a mark of their genius. The Auvers-sur-Oise village has preserved this precious heritage and you will relive the Impressionist movement birth and fulfillment.

Many famous painters immortalized the sights and surroundings of Auvers sur Oise. Vincent Van Gogh painted here seventy paintings during his last month life.

Discover Van Gogh's last housing at "l'Auberge Ravoux" in Auvers-sur-Oise, where he lived in a modest attic room, bedroom n°5, lighted by a simple dormer and where Theo Van Gogh assisted his brother last moments.
The "suicide bedroom", has become an essential room that represents the painter's sensitive universe, and by superstition was never rent again. There is not much to be seen here... it's an empty room to be felt, there are no relics to be found, but rather a historical place that marked the painter's last state of mind.
Bedroom n°6 was occupied by another painter, less famous, Anton Hirschig. His simple furniture, show example of an artist lifestyle conditions at the end of the XIXe century.

This time travel takes end in the auberge's attic with an audio-visual presentation " Walking the way of Van Gogh", that recounts the artist's stay in Auvers-sur-Oise, through his works, letters and photographs. The spectator is invited to discover Auvers-sur-Oise through the eyes of the talented painter Van Gogh.
