Excursion to Fontainebleau Castle & Barbizon

Wish we had had more time at the palace, and also at Barbizon, but we did make it to both of these sites, learned a lot, enjoyed the companionship, and all had a good time. » - pietsi

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐« Trip to the castle was easy and seamless! Our driver shared some history of Fontainebleau before our visit and afterward on our trip back through the old artist village. The audio guide wasn't the best but it helped guide us through the lavish apartments in the castle—absolutely over the top and amazingly well preserved! Half day timing allowed us about 2 hours at the castle which I found perfect. » - Lizabeth

He even explained lots of things about Paris as we drove in and out of the city, which was unexpected and really insightful. It was a very busy day at Fontainebleau with lots of big groups and school children but JB had no control over that. » - Marie

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐« Tour was excellent! Our tour guide Serge was attentive, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We enjoyed the trip immensely and extras such as bottles of water was an added bonus. Short trip through Barbizon was interesting but as it was half day trip all that there was time for. Fontainebleu is beautiful and well worth a visit. Not crowded and easy to walk round, although in fairness if you can afford the time, perhaps a whole day trip would be better as so many rooms to see and gardens are also beautiful. » - Alison

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐« Fontainebleau was the most enjoyable surprise. The place is a real jewel. It is very different from Versailles: while Versailles, magnificent as it is, is cold and alienating, Fontainebleau is warm and cozy. The Renaissance architecture abs design at ts best. » - margali
