RHEIMS, CHAMPAGNE CAPITAL AND CEREMONIAL CITY

Ceremonial city and capital of Champagne region, Rheims is wonderfull for its historical heritage and its famous and prestigious wine: Champagne.

Rheims Cathedral :
You will visit the Rheims Cathedral, the city's most beautiful monument and one of the foremost achievement of 13th century Gothic art. This masterpiece is the place where most of kings of France were crownded.

During your free time, we recommend :
Monuments such as "Gallo-roman remains, Place du Forum, Place Royale, Porte de Mars", and obviously Maison Fossier Famous fabric for typical sweets and candies and well known for its "Biscuits Roses" from Rheims.

CELLAR VISIT AND CHAMPAGNE TASTING

Cellar visit and Champagne tasting :
Proud of their traditions, inhabitants from Champagne will give you explanation of Champagne harvesting, processing and bottling. You could visit mytical and old wine cellars. Following the Mumm cellars visit, you could taste its famous wine "Cordon Rouge".

Visit of the Lighthouse of Verzenay :
From the top of this original tower and its belvedere with a wonderful overview on vineyards, you will enjoy Champagne plain and City of Rheims. Discover vineyards from Champagne thanks to audioguided and fun discovery trip.

STOPOVER IN HAUTVILLERS VILLAGE

On the way back to Paris, we will make a stop in the charming village called Hautvillers. Hautvillers is a place where the monk Dom Pérignon, discovered, during the 18th century, the method and way to make Champagne.

LUNCH IN RHEIMS (in option : + 22 €)

The restaurant is located in the city of Rheims. This historical restaurant (created in 1925) is a friendly and typical place where local people like to meet each other. You will be welcomed in a "art deco" room, to enjoy a 3 course menu with drinks. Fast restaurant service to let you a large free time to visit the city of Rheims.
