Our concept "Versailles at leisure" will allow you to use daily shuttles to discover, according to your wishes and time, the wonderfull Versailles Castle. Transportation R/T + castle entry tickets + audio guide included.

OUR BASIC PACKAGE

Our initial package includes:

• The Transportation R/T from our agency, in the centre of Paris, to Versailles and the way back.
• Departure from Paris : 8:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. / Departure from Versailles : 12:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. et 5:00 p.m..
• Entry tickets to the State's Apartements (King's Apartment, Queen's chamber, Hall of Mirrors, ...) with audio guide included
• Free access to gardens, except during Musical Fountains Show and Musical Gardens - compulsory fees : 10€/pers.

• LUNCH IN VERSAILLES GARDEN : + 23€

In the very heart of Versailles park, this charming restaurant is clasified as historical monument. You will enjoy this heaven of peace, away from the crowd. You will enjoy traditionnal and tasteful meals. During summer weather, you could also appreciate the terrace full of roses.

• PACKED LUNCH : + 12€

This option will allow you to have lunch in the park. Pack lunch included sandwich (chicken or cheese), chips pack, fruit and one soda o 1/2 bottle of water.

• TICKETS FOR THE SMALL TRAIN IN VERSAILLES PARK : + 7,50€

You could get the small train from the North Terrace, near the Castle. Under cover bad weather, you could join the farest sites in the park and especially Marie Antoinette hamlet and Trianons. At train stops, you could go up and down from the train as much as you need.

INFO + : To visit the Trianons, small train is essential.

• TICKET TO VISIT MARIE-ANTOINETTE PROPERTY : + 10€

Ticket for Marie Antoinette property will allow you to discover : Petit Trianon, theatre, Grand Trianon, Queen's hamlet surrounded by river, gardens, rocks... Marie-Antoinette considered it as a place for calm and leisure, away from strict rules from the Court.

INFO + : We recommend to book the option "small train" to get the Trianons located far away from the Castle.

VERSAILLES CASTLE TOUR

Thanks to the tour, you could discover on your own, fabulous rooms of the palace such as:

• the King's Grand Apartment, this prestigious seven-room enfilade was meant to serve as a parade apartment, that is, as a venue for the sovereign's official acts. Therefore it was sumptuously decorated according to the model of former Italian palaces.
• the Hall of Mirrors or "the Grande Galerie", as it was called in the 17th century, was used daily as a place of passage, and a waiting and meeting space for the courtiers and the visiting public.
• the Queen's chamber, the chamber is the main room of the apartment, the one where the Queen spent most of her time. She slept here, often joined by the King.

MUSICAL GARDENS AND MUSICAL FOUNTAINS SHOW

For the week-ends and national holidays, you could attend to a wonderful water fountains show with baroque music. Musical fountains show takes place on week-ends from April to October, on national holidays, on Tuesday for July and August. (compulsory fees)

THE GARDENS OF VERSAILLES

You will have free time to stroll through the amazing gardens. Versailles is the model of the typical French garden laid out between 1661 and 1700 by le Nôtre who levelled off the land, drained it and landscaped the views, groves, canals, and flowers bed. The gardens are adorned with more than 400 marble, bronze and led statues and fountains by water features.

SOME HISTORY ...

When the Versailles Palace was built, the city of Versailles was a country village; today, it is a suburb of Paris, some twenty kilometres southwest of Paris. The court of Versailles was the centre of political power in France from 1682, when Louis XIV moved from Paris, until the royal family was forced to return to the capital in October 1789 after the beginning of French Revolution. Versailles is therefore famous not only as a building, but as a symbol of the system of absolute monarchy of the Ancien Régime.
