Orsay museum is open to the public since December 1986 and exhibits a wide range of paintings, sculptures, architecture, objets d’art, furniture, cinema, photographs, music, opera sets and Western artistic creation from 1848 to 1914. It gathers national collections essentially coming from : the Louvre, the Jeu de Paume museum and the national museum of modern art from the Georges Pompidou center.
Orsay museum is famous for its impressionist works and its numerous temporary exhibitions all year long.
