NORMANDY LANDING BEACHES :
You will start your day with the visit of the Pointe du Hoc, this cliff (where German fortifications were concentrated) is located between Utah Beach and Omaha Beach, the rangers climbed it and today the Star-Spangled Banner flaps on top of it since France donated this piece of land to the United States in 1979.
You will continue towards Omaha Beach, visit the American cemetery, a wide necropole which overlooks the beach, and the brand new visitor center. This place of memory where personal stories, photos, movies, interactive presentations and objects from that period are gathered, is a good complement to the visit of the cemetery.

STOP AND BAYEUX VISIT (approximate duration : 2h30)
Free time at lunch in the town of Bayeux, charming city that holds many treasures, such as its famous tapestry, wonderful heritage of the Middle Ages, the old Bayeux, which calls for a walk through its streets another age, and its majestic huge cathedral.

Classified as "Memory of the World" by UNESCO, the Bayeux Tapestry is an embroidery, 70 meters long and made in the eleventh century. Celebrating the conquest of England by William, Duke of Normandy, the canvas was probably embroidered after the Battle of Hastings October 14, 1066.
